x-ray detectable thread
This product is an x-ray detectable yarn used widely in the manufacture of x-ray detectable gauze swebs and spongs, using both woven and non-woven fabrics. Melt spun from polypropylene with a high loading of barium sulphate , the yarn meets the x-ray opacity requirements of both the British and French Pharmacopoeias.
This proprocut is made up of 40filaments, warpped with a fine polyester thread .A key advantage of this multi-filament yarn is the soft and flexible nature, couple with the product’s strength , which allows it to be woven , although the yarn may be heat or gamma irradiated .The yarn is inslouble in water and most common organic solvents.
